Review: Shiseido The Makeup Automatic Lip Crayon LC10

Since I mentioned about Shiseido The Makeup Automatic Lip Crayon LC10 in my posts before, I thought a review would be good. I've already said how much I like Shiseido products and this lip crayon is no exception.

Designed as a pencil that twists out easily and doesn't need sharpening, Shiseido's Automatic Lip Crayon is very practical for everyday use. It defines lip contour easily and precisely to desired shape. To start from the basics, Lip Crayon is made in Japan and its net weight is 1.5 grams/0.05 oz. I don’t notice any taste while I wear Lip Crayon. There is a light scent I smell in the package but doesn't bother at all.

Lip Crayon LC10 is a blue toned red and very rich in colour. It gives a good coverage even with light touches and it's also buildable and blendable. The texture is so soft that it allows you to use it as a lipstick too and it doesn't feel heavy. It goes on smoothly, evenly and stays put. It never dries out lips or leaves lips feathery. It really does the job of not letting your lipstick bleed. The most stunning thing about this product is its longevity. It's unbelievably long lasting (7-8 hours on my lips) so if you don't plan to use it with a hours lasting lipstick, then I recommend you to use this liner all over the lips to prevent framed lips without lip colour look.

To summarize, I describe this lip crayon as a long, slim lipstick with lip liner features. It has a smooth texture, easily applied, long lasting and very practical to use and carry around. I know it's on the expensive side but definitely worth it. My score for this brilliant product is 10/10.

Since Shiseido The Makeup Automatic Lip Crayon LC10 is pretty long-lasting,
I usually prefer to apply it all over my lips before wearing my lipstick.

Review: Clinique Colour Surge Butter Shine Lipstick Ambrosia

Clinique is a well-known brand for their make-up and skin care products for a long time. I remember playing with my mother's Clinique lipsticks when I was a little girl. Having dry lipsticks, Butter Shine lipsticks are my life saver as they are very moisturising and not too thick. I also love the smoothness of its gel formula very much.

Ambrosia, a golden red orange, is my favourite orange colour in my whole collection (this is my third tube of Ambrosia). It has a rich colour and glints of gold which is perfect for day time. This colour also works for night make-up since it's more opaque compared to some light colours from this range. It feels soothing on my dry lips and does not have a drying after-effect. Unlike Laura Mercier's Stickgloss, it doesn't tend to melt in warm weather.

Clinique Colour Surge Butter Shine Lipstick in Ambrosia has a super smooth application, feels like it melts onto your lips. The colour stays on my lips for 3-4 hours which is typical for this type of lipsticks. It doesn't  have a detectable smell or taste.

Ambrosia is a pretty uplifting colour and I use it all year round. The definition of Clinique website is definitely true and I totally agree with this sentence: "Drenches lips in moist, lush colour that glides on buttery-soft, feels luxuriously smooth."

Three Days with Monica and Monica Lipsticks

Yesterday Dolce & Gabbana channel released a video called Three Days with Monica. As you probably know, Dolce&Gabbana Monica Lipstick Collection is dediacted to Monica Bellucci, whom I adore so much. She's the most beautiful and elegant woman on earth in my opinion and she has gorgeous lips.

It's hard to choose from the collection but I'd love to try Only Monica and Italian Monica so bad.

Here are the videos of Monica Lipstick Collection and Three Days with Monica. Enjoy!

Great video from Lisa Eldridge about wearing a lipstick in different ways

I admire Lisa Eldridge, who is one of the great make-up artists, and her talent. I love her enthusiastic and informative talks. By informative, I don't only mean trends or this colour goes with that one but also the history of beauty or latest researches.

Have you watched her lip pallettes video? Have you seen her excitement when she talks about them? That's what I love about her the most. I can tell she takes much pleasure in making her videos. I believe it's more important that you should love your work first, then others would appreciate it. I love brilliant Lisa Eldridge's creativity, style and make-up philosophy. I hope she creates her own make-up brand soon.

Here's one of my favourite videos of her: One Lipstick... Many Different Ways to Wear it

  • Keywords: Glittery, easy application, precision pen, pigmented, non-sticky
  • Smell: Fruity, a bit strong
  • Sunscreen: No
  • Longevity: 3-4 hours
  • Finish: Glittery, full
  • Application: Easy and precise application
  • Would I repurchase?: Not sure
  • Comments: If you like glosses with high amount of glitter, then this can be for you. The product is described as "The Bright Pearl Complex, composed of light-reflecting mother-of-pearl, creates a mirror-like shine that gives lips a fuller, more sensual look." I'm not a glittery gloss fan so I would probably prefer YSL Golden Gloss. YSL Touche Brilliance Sparkling Garnet is great for night, but since the glitter migrates a bit on bare lips, be careful when you use during the day. Click-pen concept makes application easy, even without mirror.

Fresh back from holiday

Yesterday was the last day of my holiday. It felt great to be with my family, see friends and swim in the sea with lots of sunshine for nearly three weeks. Now I'm back in town and blog posts will be back to normal. I hope you're having a lovely week!
